Pursuant to section 32 of the Corrections Act 2004, the Minister of Corrections gives the following notice.

1 Title

This notice is the Corrections (Christchurch Prison) Notice 2014.

2 Commencement

This notice takes effect from 1 June 2014.

3 Christchurch Prison

The land described in the Schedule is declared to be a corrections prison to be known as Christchurch Prison.

4 Revocation

All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land Registration District containing 224.2068 hectares, more or less, being Section 5 Survey Office Plan 423821, and being all of the land comprised and described in Computer Freehold Register 589785 (Canterbury Land Registry).

All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land Registration District containing 224.4330 hectares, more or less, being Section 2 Survey Office Plan 454498, and being all of the land comprised and described in Computer Freehold Register 619517 (Canterbury Land Registry).

All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land Registration District containing 180.6370 hectares, more or less, being Section 3 Survey Office Plan 454498, and being all of the land comprised and described in Computer Freehold Register 619518 (Canterbury Land Registry).

All that parcel of land in the Canterbury Land Registration District containing 176.1300 hectares, more or less, being Section 4 Survey Office Plan 19454, and being all of the land comprised and described in Computer Freehold Register CB 41A/141 (Canterbury Land Registry).

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This notice takes effect from 1 June 2014. The notice declares the land described in the Schedule to be a prison known as Christchurch Prison. It revokes and replaces the Penal Institutions (Christchurch Prison) Notice 2001 to reflect changes to the land area of the prison due to boundary adjustments and the disposal of land for roading.
