Explanatory note
This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This notice, which comes into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette, is made under the Fisheries (South Island Customary Fishing) Regulations 1999 (the regulations). This notice states that a mātaitai reserve has been declared under regulation 20 of the regulations and describes the boundaries of the reserve, which is located in an area along the southern coastline of Bluff Hill (Motupōhue) between Cable Bay and Stirling Point. This notice also names the Tangata Tiaki/Kaitiaki that have been appointed for the reserve.For further explanation of the general effect of the declaration of a mātaitai reserve, refer to the Fisheries (Declaration of Motupōhue Mātaitai Reserve) Notice 2014.
