These regulations, which come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette, amend the Dairy Industry (Herd Testing and New Zealand Dairy Core Database) Regulations 2001 (the principal regulations) to correct an error in regulation 25(2) of those regulations. As originally enacted, regulation 25(2) allowed disclosure of confidential information to directors, employees, contractors, and associated persons of the Livestock Improvement Corporation Limited (LIC) who were involved in the operation of the database of which the core database forms a part. When regulation 25(2) was replaced by regulation 21 of the Dairy Industry (Herd Testing and New Zealand Dairy Core Database) Amendment Regulations 2014, the provision was extended to cover the manager of the core database but the exemption for people involved in the operation of the database was inadvertently limited to associated persons of LIC or of the manager of the core database.
