Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations amend the Climate Change (Forestry Sector) Regulations 2008 (the principal regulations). The tables in Schedules 4 and 6 of the principal regulations relating to the pre-calculated values of carbon stock per hectare for exotic hardwoods are extended to include forests older than 25 years so as to allow an accurate estimate of carbon stocks in those forests.

These regulations come into force on 1 January 2016 and apply for the year commencing on that date and for each subsequent year.

Issued under the authority of the Legislation Act 2012.

Date of notification in Gazette: 24 September 2015.

These regulations are administered by the Ministry for Primary Industries.
