This order is made under section 2(1) of the WorkSafe New Zealand Amendment Act 2015 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.

1 Title

This order is the WorkSafe New Zealand Amendment Act 2015 Commencement Order 2016.

2 Commencement of certain provisions of WorkSafe New Zealand Amendment Act 2015

The following provisions of the WorkSafe New Zealand Amendment Act 2015 come into force on 4 April 2016:

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings the following provisions of the WorkSafe New Zealand Amendment Act 2015 (the amendment Act) into force on 4 April 2016:

Sections 4 to 7 of the amendment Act consequentially amend sections 3, 7, 8, and 9 of the WorkSafe New Zealand Act 2013 (the principal Act) in order to insert new definitions and align the terminology used in the principal Act with the terminology used in the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015. Section 8 of the amendment Act amends section 10 of the principal Act to provide WorkSafe New Zealand with 3 new functions in addition to its existing functions.
