Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order brings section 6 of the International Finance Agreements Amendment Act 2013 (the Amendment Act) into force on 11 March 2016. On that date, all of the provisions of the Amendment Act will have commenced.
The Amendment Act provides for New Zealand to recognise changes to the Articles of Agreement of the International Monetary Fund (the Fund). The changes were agreed by the Fund’s Governors in 2008 and 2010. The amendments relating to the 2008 changes came into force on the day after the Amendment Act was passed. The effect of bringing section 6 of the Amendment Act into force is to recognise the 2010 changes (which came into force, for the Fund, on 26 January 2016).
Issued under the authority of the Legislation Act 2012.
Date of notification in Gazette: 10 March 2016.
This order is administered by the Treasury.
