2 Commencement

This order comes into force on 30 June 2016.

3 Principal order

This order amends the State Sector (Ministry for Primary Industries) Order 2012 (the principal order).

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on 30 June 2016, amends the State Sector (Ministry for Primary Industries) Order 2012 (the principal order), which was made at the time of the change of name from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) to the Ministry for Primary Industries by exercise of the Crown’s prerogative on 30 April 2012.

The effect of the principal order is that, for a transitional period, references to MAF or its chief executive can be read as references to the Ministry for Primary Industries or its chief executive. This order extends that transitional period until 30 June 2020.

The effect of the principal order and a companion order (the State Sector (New Zealand Food Safety Authority) Order 2010) is to enable references to MAF and the New Zealand Food Safety Authority to be read as references to the Ministry for Primary Industries during that transitional period.

Issued under the authority of the Legislation Act 2012.

Date of notification in Gazette: 9 June 2016.

This order is administered by the State Services Commission.
