1 Title

This order is the Social Security (Extension of Young Persons Services and Remedial Matters) Amendment Act 2016 Commencement Order 2016.

2 Commencement of specified provisions of Social Security (Extension of Young Persons Services and Remedial Matters) Amendment Act 2016

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings specified provisions of the Social Security (Extension of Young Persons Services and Remedial Matters) Amendment Act 2016 (the Act) into force on 25 October 2016.

Most of the Act’s provisions came into force on 8 July 2016 (the day after the date on which the Act received the Royal assent).

However, listed provisions come into force on a later date, or on any later different dates, appointed under section 2(1) of the Act.

This order appoints 25 October 2016 as the date on which most of the listed provisions (those specified in clause 2) come into force.

The rest of the listed provisions, which are yet to be brought into force by 1 or more further orders made under section 2(1) of the Act, are as follows:

1 General

This is a consolidation of the Social Security (Extension of Young Persons Services and Remedial Matters) Amendment Act 2016 Commencement Order 2016 that incorporates the amendments made to the legislation so that it shows the law as at its stated date.

2 Legal status

A consolidation is taken to correctly state, as at its stated date, the law enacted or made by the legislation consolidated and by the amendments. This presumption applies unless the contrary is shown.
