Road User Charges (Exemption Period for Heavy Electric RUC Vehicles) Order 2017

This order is made under section 37A of the Road User Charges Act 2012—

(a)

on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council; and

(b)

on the recommendation of the Minister of Transport made in accordance with section 37A(2) of that Act.

Order

1 Title

This order is the Road User Charges (Exemption Period for Heavy Electric RUC Vehicles) Order 2017.

2 Commencement

This order comes into force on 1 September 2017.

3 Exemption period for heavy electric RUC vehicles

For the purposes of section 37A of the Road User Charges Act 2012, the period during which road user charges are not payable in respect of heavy electric RUC vehicles is the period—

(a)

beginning on 1 September 2017; and

(b)

ending with the close of 31 December 2025.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on 1 September 2017, specifies the period during which road user charges are not payable under the Road User Charges Act 2012 in respect of heavy electric RUC vehicles as the period beginning on 1 September 2017 and ending with the close of 31 December 2025.
