This order is made under section 2(1) of the Accident Compensation Amendment Act 2016 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.

This order is the Accident Compensation Amendment Act 2016 Commencement Order 2017.

2 Commencement of Accident Compensation Amendment Act 2016

The Accident Compensation Amendment Act 2016 comes into force on 31 January 2018.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings the Accident Compensation Amendment Act 2016 into force on 31 January 2018. That Act amends Schedule 1 of the Accident Compensation Act 2001 to require that the health practitioner leading the co-ordination of the provision of treatment or rehabilitation to a claimant be given the opportunity to participate in the preparation of the claimant’s individual rehabilitation plan (rather than all medical practitioners providing treatment to the claimant).
