These regulations are made under section 29A of the Exclusive Economic Zone and Continental Shelf (Environmental Effects) Act 2012—
on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council; and
on the recommendation of the Minister for the Environment made after complying with sections 34 and 34A of that Act.
These regulations are the Exclusive Economic Zone and Continental Shelf (Environmental Effects—Discharge and Dumping) Amendment Regulations 2017.
These regulations come into force on 1 December 2017.
These regulations amend the Exclusive Economic Zone and Continental Shelf (Environmental Effects—Discharge and Dumping) Regulations 2015 (the principal regulations).
In regulation 4, replace “Hazardous Substances (Minimum Degrees of Hazard) Regulations 2001” with “Hazardous Substances (Minimum Degrees of Hazard) Notice 2017”.

In regulation 24(3)(a), replace “table in Schedule 6 of the Hazardous Substances (Classification) Regulations 2001” with “Hazardous Substances (Classification) Notice 2017”.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 December 2017, amend the Exclusive Economic Zone and Continental Shelf (Environmental Effects—Discharge and Dumping) Regulations 2015. The amendments replace references to certain regulations made under the Hazardous Substances and New Organisms Act 1996 with references to notices that replace those regulations.
