Explanatory note
This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
The notice relates to a customary food gathering area/rohe moana of the tangata whenua represented by Mai Uenuku ki te Whenua Marae. The area/rohe moana is in the Waikato and extends from Matawha Point to Waipohutukawa and includes Raglan Harbour.
Notice is given of the cancellation of the appointment of a Tangata Kaitiaki/Tiaki for the area/rohe moana and the appointment of a replacement. The Minister of Fisheries cancelled the appointment and made the replacement appointment at the request of Mai Uenuku ki te Whenua Marae.
The powers of Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki are set out in the regulations.
