This order is made under section 45(2) of the Biosecurity Act 1993 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.

Order

1 Title

This order is the Biosecurity (Notifiable Organisms) Amendment Order 2018.

2 Commencement

This order comes into force on 10 September 2018.

3 Principal order

This order amends the Biosecurity (Notifiable Organisms) Order 2016 (the principal order).

4 Schedule amended

In the Schedule, item relating to organisms primarily affecting cattle, insert in its appropriate alphabetical order:

Mycoplasma bovis

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on 10 September 2018, amends the Biosecurity (Notifiable Organisms) Order 2016.

It adds Mycoplasma bovis to the list of notifiable organisms in the Schedule as an organism primarily affecting cattle. The effect of this amendment is that the duty to report the presence or possible presence of notifiable organisms under section 46 of the Biosecurity Act 1993 applies to Mycoplasma bovis.
