These regulations are administered by the Ministry of Social Development.
These regulations are made under section 132AB of the Social Security Act 1964 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.
These regulations are the Social Security (Temporary Additional Support) Amendment Regulations (No 3) 2018.
These regulations come into force on 1 October 2018.
These regulations amend the Social Security (Temporary Additional Support) Regulations 2005 (the principal regulations).
After regulation 8(3)(n), insert:
for a person with a disability (A), any direct payment of disability support made by or on behalf of the Crown to A, or a person on A’s behalf, for the purpose of purchasing or obtaining disability support services for A.

In regulation 8(3)(o), disability support services has the same meaning as in section 6(1) of the New Zealand Public Health and Disability Act 2000.

These regulations, which come into force on 1 October 2018, amend the Social Security (Temporary Additional Support) Regulations 2005 (the principal regulations). The effect of the amendments is to ensure that a person’s cash assets (as defined in regulation 8 of the principal regulations) for the purpose of assessing their eligibility for temporary additional support excludes any direct payment of disability support made by or on behalf of the Crown to a person, or another person on that person’s behalf, for the purpose of purchasing or obtaining disability support services for the person.
