This order is made under section 2 of the Social Assistance (Residency Qualification) Legislation Act 2018 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.

1 Title

This order is the Social Assistance (Residency Qualification) Legislation Act Commencement Order 2018.

2 Commencement

The Social Assistance (Residency Qualification) Legislation Act 2018 comes into force on 21 January 2019.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings the Social Assistance (Residency Qualification) Legislation Act 2018 into force on Monday 21 January 2019. That Act amends the New Zealand Superannuation and Retirement Income Act 2001 and the Veterans’ Support Act 2014.
