Fisheries (High Seas Fishing Notifications—Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna) Amendment Notice 2019

Pursuant to section 113C of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Trade gives the following notice.

Notice

1 Title

This notice is the Fisheries (High Seas Fishing Notifications—Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna) Amendment Notice 2019.

2 Commencement

This notice comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.

4 Schedule amended

In the Schedule, replace paragraphs (q) and (r) with:

Resolution for a CCSBT Scheme for Minimum Standards for Inspection in Port (adopted at CCSBT 22 in 2015), and as amended at CCSBT 25 in 2018):

Resolution on Large-scale Driftnet Fishing (adopted at CCSBT 23 in 2016):

Resolution to Align CCSBT’s Ecologically Related Species measures with those of other tuna RFMOs (adopted at CCSBT 25 in 2018).

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This notice, which comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette, amends the Fisheries (High Seas Fishing Notifications—Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna) Notice 2009. The amendments update the list of international conservation and management measures that have been adopted by the Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna in 2018. This notice also revokes 5 notices, which have been superseded.
