This order is made under section 7(3) and (5) of the Inquiries Act 2013

(a)

on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council; and

(b)

following appropriate consultation in accordance with section 7(6) of that Act.

Order

1 Title

This order is the Inquiries (Public Inquiry into Earthquake Commission) Amendment Order 2019.

2 Commencement

This order comes into force on 28 June 2019.

3 Principal order

This order amends the Inquiries (Public Inquiry into Earthquake Commission) Order 2018 (the principal order).

4 Schedule amended

In the Schedule, under the cross-heading Timing, replace “30 June 2019” with “31 March 2020”.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on 28 June 2019, amends the Inquiries (Public Inquiry into Earthquake Commission) Order 2018. It amends the inquiry’s terms of reference by changing the date by which the inquiry is to report its findings and recommendations from 30 June 2019 to 31 March 2020.
