This order is made under section 78D of the Dog Control Act 1996—
on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council; and
on the recommendation of the Minister of Local Government made after consultation with the Minister for Disability Issues in accordance with section 78D(2) of that Act.
This order is the Dog Control (Schedule 5) Order 2019.
This order comes into force on 28 June 2019.

In the Dog Control Act 1996, Schedule 5, repeal the item relating to Top Dog Companion Trust.

In the Dog Control Act 1996, Schedule 5, insert in their appropriate alphabetical order:
Assistance Dogs New Zealand
K9 Medical Detection New Zealand
Perfect Partners Assistance Dogs Trust

This order, which comes into force on 28 June 2019, amends the Dog Control Act 1996 (the Act).
Clause 3 amends the list in Schedule 5 of the Act of organisations that are authorised to certify dogs as disability assist dogs by—
repealing the reference to Top Dog Companion Trust (which is no longer operating and has deregistered as a charity); and
inserting references to Assistance Dogs New Zealand, K9 Medical Detection New Zealand, and Perfect Partners Assistance Dogs Trust.
