This order is made under sections 30A(1A) and 30K of the State Sector Act 1988 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.

Order

1 Title

This order is the State Sector (Social Wellbeing Agency) Order 2020.

2 Commencement

This order comes into force on 19 March 2020.

3 Schedule 1A of State Sector Act 1988 amended

In the State Sector Act 1988, Schedule 1A, replace “Social Investment Agency” with “Social Wellbeing Agency”.

4 Application of consequential changes to references provisions

Sections 30H and 30I of the State Sector Act 1988 apply to enactments or other things coming into force, entered into, or created during the transitional period beginning on 19 March 2020 and ending on 19 March 2021, after the name of the Social Investment Agency is changed to the Social Wellbeing Agency.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on 19 March 2020, amends Schedule 1A of the State Sector Act 1988 (the Act) to reflect the change of name of the Social Investment Agency to the Social Wellbeing Agency.

Sections 30H and 30I of the Act concern consequential changes to references to departmental agencies and chief executives following a change of name. The order applies those sections to enactments or other things coming into force, entered into, or created during a transitional period beginning on 19 March 2020 and ending on 19 March 2021.
