Forests (Payment of Money) Order 2020

This order is made under section 21 of the Forests Amendment Act 2004

(a)

on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council; and

(b)

in accordance with a recommendation made by the Minister of Finance.

Order

1 Title

This order is the Forests (Payment of Money) Order 2020.

2 Commencement

This order comes into force on 23 April 2020.

3 Payments of money not gross income of recipient

Payments of money made in the period specified in column 1 of the Schedule that are made in consideration of entering into a conservation covenant over specified Māori land described in column 2 of the Schedule are not, in accordance with section 21 of the Forests Amendment Act 2004, gross income of the recipient named in column 3 of the Schedule.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on 23 April 2020, is made under section 21 of the Forests Amendment Act 2004. The order specifies that payments of money made in the period beginning on 31 October 2016 and ending on 19 November 2019 in consideration of entering into a conservation covenant over specified Māori land are not gross income of the named recipient.
