These regulations are made under sections 37 and 37A of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975—
on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council; and
on the recommendation and advice of the Minister of Health given in accordance with section 37A of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1975.
These regulations are the Misuse of Drugs (Medicinal Cannabis) Amendment Regulations 2020.
These regulations come into force on 30 September 2020.
These regulations amend the Misuse of Drugs (Medicinal Cannabis) Regulations 2019 (the principal regulations).
In Schedule 1, clause 1(2), replace “during the 6-month period that starts at the commencement of these regulations” with “until 1 April 2021”.

These regulations, which come into force on 30 September 2020, amend the Misuse of Drugs (Medicinal Cannabis) Regulations 2019.
The amendment provides a 6-month extension to the transitional period during which there is an exemption to the minimum quality standard applying to the product of a licence holder. That transitional period now ends on 31 March 2021 and the minimum quality standard will apply on and after 1 April 2021.
