These regulations are made under section 75 of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997—
on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council; and
on the recommendation of the Minister for Food Safety made in accordance with section 78 of that Act.
These regulations are the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines (Exemptions and Prohibited Substances) Amendment Regulations (No 2) 2020.
These regulations come into force on 3 December 2020.
These regulations amend the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines (Exemptions and Prohibited Substances) Regulations 2011 (the principal regulations).
In Schedule 1, insert in its appropriate alphabetical order:
Dicofol

These regulations, which come into force on 3 December 2020, amend the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines (Exemptions and Prohibited Substances) Regulations 2011 to include dicofol as a substance prohibited from use as an agricultural compound or ingredient in any agricultural compound. The order makes this change to implement the 2020 amendments to the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants.
