This order is made under section 2(2) of the Ngāti Tūwharetoa Claims Settlement Act 2018 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Minister for Treaty of Waitangi Negotiations and the Minister of Conservation.

Order

1 Title

This order is the Ngāti Tūwharetoa Claims Settlement Act Commencement Order 2021.

2 Commencement of certain provisions of Ngāti Tūwharetoa Claims Settlement Act 2018

Sections 92 to 94 of the Ngāti Tūwharetoa Claims Settlement Act 2018 come into force on 26 April 2021.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings into force, on 26 April 2021, sections 92 to 94 of the Ngāti Tūwharetoa Claims Settlement Act 2018 (the Act). These sections relate to the Ōnekeneke Recreation Reserve, which is a cultural redress property under the Act (see section 90 of the Act and the description of the Ōnekeneke property in Schedule 3 of the Act).
