Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
Regulation 4 amends regulation 9A of the principal regulations. Regulation 9A temporarily suspends the ability of a person outside New Zealand to apply for a temporary entry class visa, but with certain exceptions.
One of the exceptions to the suspension was for any person in, and intending to travel from, a location that is or has been a COVID-19 quarantine-free travel zone. That exception is amended to apply only to any person in, and intending to travel from, the Cook Islands or Niue.
