These regulations are made under section 297 of the Fisheries Act 1996 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.

1 Title

These regulations are the Fisheries (Electronic Monitoring on Vessels) Amendment Regulations 2021.

2 Commencement

These regulations come into force on 30 September 2021.

3 Principal regulations
4 Schedule 1 amended

In Schedule 1, clause 1(1), replace “1 October 2021” with “1 October 2022”.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations come into force on 30 September 2021. They amend the Fisheries (Electronic Monitoring on Vessels) Regulations 2017 to defer the date by which certain vessels must comply with those regulations from 1 October 2021 to 1 October 2022. Those regulations provide for the electronic monitoring of vessels used to fish under permits issued under section 91 or 113H of the Fisheries Act 1996.
