These regulations are made under section 163 of the Climate Change Response Act 2002—
on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council; and
on the recommendation of the Minister of Climate Change made after complying with sections 3A, 3B, and 163(5) of that Act.
These regulations are the Climate Change (Waste) Amendment Regulations 2021.
These regulations come into force on 1 January 2022.
These regulations amend the Climate Change (Waste) Regulations 2010.
In regulation 5(1), item C, paragraph (a), replace “1.19” with “0.91”.

These regulations amend the Climate Change (Waste) Regulations 2010 to update the default emissions factor used in calculating emissions from operating disposal facilities, so that it aligns with updated average waste composition data.
These regulations come into force on 1 January 2022 and apply for the year commencing on that date and for each subsequent year.
