This order is made under section 2(1) of the COVID-19 Public Health Response Amendment Act 2021 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.

Order

1 Title

This order is the COVID-19 Public Health Response Amendment Act 2021 Commencement Order 2021.

2 Commencement of certain provisions of COVID-19 Public Health Response Amendment Act 2021

The following provisions of the COVID-19 Public Health Response Amendment Act 2021 come into force on 4 December 2021:

section 7 (to the extent that it relates to new section 11(2) of the COVID-19 Public Health Response Act 2020):

(c)

section 13 (to the extent that it relates to new section 26(4) of that Act):

(d)

section 22 (to the extent that it relates to new section 32Q(1)(c) of that Act).

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings provisions listed in section 2(1) of the COVID-19 Public Health Response Amendment Act 2021 (the amendment Act) into force on 4 December 2021. These provisions relate to the classification of, and penalties for, infringement offences under the COVID-19 Public Health Response Act 2020.

This order does not bring section 18 of the amendment Act into force. That section relates to exemptions from the requirement to pay charges for staying at managed isolation or quarantine facilities.
