This order is made under section 26(1)(a) and (2) of the Public Service Act 2020 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.

Order

1 Title

This order is the Public Service (Executive Board for the Elimination of Family Violence and Sexual Violence) Order 2022.

2 Commencement

This order comes into force on 24 March 2022.

3 Principal Act

This order amends the Public Service Act 2020.

4 Schedule 2 amended

In Schedule 2, Part 3, insert in its appropriate alphabetical order:

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on 24 March 2022, inserts the name of the Executive Board for the Elimination of Family Violence and Sexual Violence (the board) into Part 3 of Schedule 2 of the Public Service Act 2020 (the principal Act), as an interdepartmental executive board serviced by the Ministry of Justice.

The board is being established to ensure joint accountability for work relating to the elimination of family violence and sexual violence.

As a result of the order, the board becomes a public service agency to which the principal Act applies. The principal Act governs the board’s responsibilities, powers, and working arrangements, and the selection of board members.

Issued under the authority of the Legislation Act 2019.
