Fisheries (Total Allowable Catch, Total Allowable Commercial Catch, and Deemed Value Rates) Amendment Notice 2022

This notice is made by the Minister for Oceans and Fisheries under sections 13 and 20 of the Fisheries Act 1996 after complying with sections 11, 12, 13, and 21 of that Act.

Notice

1 Title

This notice is the Fisheries (Total Allowable Catch, Total Allowable Commercial Catch, and Deemed Value Rates) Amendment Notice 2022.

2 Commencement

This notice comes into force on 31 March 2022.

3 Application

This notice applies on and from the first day of the fishing year starting on 1 April 2022.

5 Schedule 1 amended

In Schedule 1, replace the items in columns 2 and 3 relating to CRA1, CRA7, CRA8, SBW6B, SCA1, and SCACS with the corresponding items set out in columns 2 and 3 of the following table:

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

The amendments commence on 31 March 2022 but apply on and from the first day of the fishing year starting on 1 April 2022.

Schedule 1 of the principal notice is amended with the following effects:

Rock lobster—spiny (red)

  • for CRA1, the total allowable catch (the TAC) decreases from 203 to 193 and the total allowable commercial catch (the TACC) decreases from 110 to 105:

  • for CRA7, the TAC increases from 126.2 to 134.5 and the TACC increases from 106.2 to 111.5:

  • for CRA8, the TAC increases from 1,282.7 to 1,453 and the TACC increases from 1,191.7 to 1,251:

Southern blue whiting

  • for SBW6B, the TAC decreases from 2,888 to 2,309 and the TACC decreases from 2,830 to 2,264:

Scallop

  • for SCA1, the TAC decreases from 30 to 8.5 and the TACC decreases from 10 to 0:

  • for SCACS, the TAC decreases from 81 to 19 and the TACC decreases from 50 to 5.
