These regulations are made under section 109 of the Land Transport Management Act 2003 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council and on the recommendation of the Minister of Transport.

Regulations

1 Title

These regulations are the Land Transport Management (Regional Transport Committees) Regulations 2022.

2 Commencement

These regulations come into force on 19 May 2022.

3 New function of regional transport committees

It is a function of a regional transport committee to prepare and review speed management plans in accordance with the Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2022.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations come into force on 19 May 2022.

They add a new function for a regional transport committee (clause 3). The new function is to prepare and review speed management plans in accordance with the Land Transport Rule: Setting of Speed Limits 2022. Regional transport committee, and other relevant terms, are defined in the Land Transport Management Act 2003.

Regulatory impact assessment

The Ministry of Transport produced a regulatory impact assessment on 4 March 2022 to help inform the decisions taken by the Government relating to the contents of this instrument.
