This order is made under section 42A(2) of the Road User Charges Act 2012 on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council.
This order is the Road User Charges (Temporary RUC Reduction Scheme Extension) Order 2022.
This order comes into force on 14 July 2022.
For the purposes of section 42A(1)(b)(i) of the Road User Charges Act 2012, the temporary reduction period ends on 21 September 2022.

This order, which comes into force on 14 July 2022, has the effect of extending the period during which the rates of road user charges are reduced under section 42B of the Road User Charges Act 2012 (as inserted by the Road User Charges (Temporary RUC Reduction Scheme) Amendment Act 2022). The period is extended by 2 months and will end on 21 September 2022 instead of 21 July 2022.
The Ministry of Transport will produce a post-implementation assessment of the temporary reduction scheme extended by this order.
A copy of the post-implementation assessment will be made available on the Ministry of Transport Internet site.
