These regulations are administered in the Department of External Affairs

  • Preamble

    WHEREAS by subsection (2) of section 1 of the Antarctica Act 1960 it is provided that sections 4 to 6 of that Act shall come into force on a date to be appointed for the commencement thereof by the Governor-General by Proclamation:

    Now, therefore, pursuant to the said Act, I, Charles John, Viscount Cobham, the Governor-General of New Zealand, hereby proclaim as follows:

  • This Proclamation may be cited as the Antarctica Act Commencement Order 1961.
