PURSUANT to section 19 of the Motor Launch Regulations 19621, the Minister of Marine hereby gives the following notice.

  • This notice may be cited as the Motor Launch Regulations (Lake Tikitapu) Modification Notice 1962.

  • This notice shall come into force on the date of its notification in the Gazette.

  • Regulation 13 of the Motor Launch Regulations 19622 is hereby modified in relation to the access lane declared for Lake Tikitapu by the Minister by notice in the Gazette dated the 6th day of December 19623 as if for the words “starboard or right-hand” in subclause (2) there were substituted the words “port or left-hand”.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

The effect of this notice is to require motor launches using the access lane in Lake Tikitapu to keep to the port or left-hand side of the access lane instead of the starboard or right-hand side. Due to the position of the sun at certain times of the day, the use of the starboard side of this access lane can create a hazard.
