Pursuant to section 2 of the Criminal Justice Amendment Act 1962, His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
Order
1 Title
This order may be cited as the Periodic Detention Order 1970.
2 Magistrate’s Court at Papakura
(1)
Section 9 and sections 11 to 15 of the Criminal Justice Amendment Act 1962 shall apply with respect to male offenders who are of or over the age of 16 years and under the age of 21 years and who are convicted on or after the 1st day of July 1970 by a Magistrate’s Court held at Papakura.
(2)
Sections 10 to 15 of the said Act shall apply with respect to male offenders who are of or over the age of 16 years and under the age of 21 years and in respect of whom a warrant of commitment may be issued on or after the 1st day of July 1970 by a Magistrate exercising jurisdiction in a Magistrate’s Court held at Papakura in respect of a fine imposed on or after the 15th day of July 1963.
3 Magistrate’s Court at North Shore
(1)
Section 9 and sections 10 to 15 of the Criminal Justice Amendment Act 1962 shall apply with respect to male offenders who are of or over the age of 16 years and who are convicted on or after the 25th day of May 1970 by a Magistrate’s Court held at North Shore.
(2)
Sections 10 to 15 of the said Act shall apply with respect to male offenders who are of or over the age of 16 years and in respect of whom a warrant of commitment may be issued on or after the 25th day of May 1970 by a Magistrate exercising jurisdiction in a Magistrate’s Court held at North Shore in respect of a fine imposed on or after the 15th day of July 1963.
