(1) This order may be cited as the Social Security (National Superannuation) Order 1980.

(2) Clause 2 of this order shall be deemed to have come into force in respect of the instalment of national superannuation due on the 26th day of February 1980.

(3) Clause 3 of this order shall be deemed to have come into force in respect of the instalment of national superannuation due on the 8th day of April 1980.

In respect of the period commencing on the 26th day of February 1980 and ending with the 7th day of April 1980, the rates of national superannuation shall be—

• (a) in the case of a married couple both of whom are entitled to receive national superannuation, $121.36 a week:

• (b) in the case of an unmarried person, $72.82 a week:

• (c) in the case of a married person whose spouse is not entitled to receive national superannuation—

  • (i) if the spouse of the applicant is, in his or her own right, in receipt of a benefit under Part 1 of the Social Security Act 1964 or of an economic pension, war veteran's allowance, or war service pension under the War Pensions Act 1954, $60.68 a week:

  • (ii) in any other case, $72.82 a week.

The rates of national superannuation on and after the 8th day of April 1980 shall be—

• (a) in the case of a married couple both of whom are entitled to receive national superannuation, $122.78 a week:

• (b) in the case of an unmarried person, $73.67 a week:

• (c) in the case of a married person whose spouse is not entitled to receive national superannuation—

  • (i) if the spouse of the applicant is, in his or her own right, in receipt of a benefit under Part 1 of the Social Security Act 1964 or of an economic pension, war veteran's allowance, or war service pension under the War Pensions Act 1954, $61.39 a week:

  • (ii) in any other case, $73.67 a week.

The Social Security (National Superannuation) Order (No 2) 1979 (SR 1979/180) is hereby revoked.
