(1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Quota Management Areas, Total Allowable Catches, and Catch Histories) Amendment Notice 1997, and is part of the Fisheries (Quota Management Areas, Total Allowable Catches, and Catch Histories) Notice 1986 (SR 1986/267) (“the principal notice”).

(2) This notice comes into force on 1 October 1997.

- (c) clause 5 of the Fisheries (Quota Management Areas, Total Allowable Catches, and Catch Histories) Notice 1986, Amendment No 11:
- (d) clause 4 of the Fisheries (Quota Management Areas, Total Allowable Catches, and Catch Histories) Notice 1986, Amendment No 14.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This notice, which comes into force on 1 October 1997, amends the Fisheries (Quota Management Areas, Total Allowable Catches, and Catch Histories) Notice 1986 to alter the total allowable commercial catch for certain species.

The changes are as follows:

(a) the TACC for gemfish in all areas except the Kermadec area is reduced:

(b) the TACC for gurnard in the Challenger/Central (Plateau) area is reduced:

(d) the TACC for snapper is reduced in the Auckland (East) area and increased in the Challenger/Central (Plateau) area:

(e) the TACC for silver warehou in the combined Auckland, Central, and Challenger/Central (Plateau) areas is reduced.

(f) the TACC for stargazer in the Auckland, Central, and Southland and Sub-Antarctic areas is reduced.
