Fisheries (Quota Management Areas, Total Allowable Catches, and Catch Histories) Amendment Notice 2005

This notice is administered in the Ministry of Fisheries.

Pursuant to section 20 of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Minister of Fisheries after having regard to the matters specified in section 21 of that Act, gives the following notice.

  • This notice comes into force on 1 October 2005.

3 Schedule 1 amended

  • (1) Schedule 1 of the principal notice is amended by omitting item B relating to hake, and substituting the following item:

    B Challenger/Central (Plateau) 7 7 700

    (2) Schedule 1 of the principal notice is amended by omitting item B relating to snapper, and substituting the following item:

    B Auckland (West) and Central (Egmont) combined 8 & 9 1 300

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This notice, which comes into force on 1 October 2005,—

  • increases the total allowable commercial catch for hake in the quota management area HAK7 (Challenger/Central (Plateau)) to 7 700 tonnes:

  • decreases the total allowable commercial catch for snapper in the quota management area SNA8 (Auckland (West) and Central (Egmont) combined) to 1 300 tonnes.

Issued under the authority of the Acts and Regulations Publication Act 1989.
