PURSUANT to section 2(2) of the Tokelau Amendment Act 1980, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
1 Title
This order may be cited as the Tokelau Amendment Act Commencement Order 1986.
2 Commencement of section 2 of Tokelau Amendment Act 1980
Section 2 of the Tokelau Amendment Act 1980 shall come into force on the 1st day of December 1986.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order brings into force, on 1 December 1986, section 2 of the Tokelau Amendment Act 1980.
That section amends section 12 of the Tokelau Amendment Act 1967. The amendment provides that, subject to any regulations made under section 9 of that Act, an employee of the Tokelau Public Service shall not also hold once as either a Faipule or a Pulenu'u.
