This order is administered by the Ministry of Health.
Pursuant to section 5 of the Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Act 1966, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
Order
1 Title and commencement
(1)
This order may be cited as the Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Institutions Order 1988.
(2)
This order shall come into force on 1 January 1989.
2 Carrington Hospital
Carrington Hospital, Auckland, is hereby certified as an institution under the Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Act 1966.
3 Southland Hospital
Southland Hospital, Invercargill, is hereby certified as an institution under the Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Act 1966.
4 The Bridge, Auckland
Amendment(s) incorporated in the order(s).
5 Revocation
The Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Institutions Order 1974 (SR 1974/69) is hereby revoked.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order, which comes into force on 1 January 1989, effects the certification under the Alcoholism and Drug Addiction Act 1966 of 2 institutions, namely, Carrington Hospital and Southland Hospital, Invercargill.
The certification of Carrington Hospital is consequential upon the decision of the Auckland Hospital Board to combine into one institution, under the name of Carrington Hospital, the hospitals formerly known as Carrington Hospital and Oakley Hospital.
This order also changes the properties that make up the certified institution known as The Bridge, Auckland.
Issued under the authority of the Legislation Act 2012.
