Building Societies Amendment Regulations 2012

Pursuant to section 137 of the Building Societies Act 1965, Her Excellency the Administrator of the Government, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.
Regulations
1 Title
These regulations are the Building Societies Amendment Regulations 2012.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 1 August 2012.
3 Principal regulations
These regulations amend the Building Societies Regulations 1989 (the principal regulations).
4 New regulation 16 inserted (Fees)
After regulation 15, insert:
“16 Fees

“(1) The fees specified in Schedule 3 are prescribed as the fees to be paid to the Registrar in respect of the matters specified in that schedule.
“(2) The fees prescribed by subclause (1) are inclusive of goods and services tax.”

5 New Schedule 3 inserted
After Schedule 2, insert the Schedule 3 set out in the Schedule of these regulations.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 1 August 2012, amend the Building Societies Regulations 1989 to impose the following fees:
$250 for the registration of the rules of a building society under section 14 of the Building Societies Act 1965 (the Act):
$40 for the registration of an annual return under section 103 of the Act.
These regulations are part of a package of regulations amending fees payable to the Companies Office. See also—
