Order

1 Title and commencement

(1)

This order may be cited as the Education (Te Wananga o Raukawa) Order 1993.

(2)

This order shall come into force on 1 July 1993.

2 Te Wananga o Raukawa established as wananga

There is hereby established as a wananga Te Wananga o Raukawa.

3 Determining people who are to constitute wananga

The people who are to constitute the wananga are—

(a)

the Raukawa Trustees, being the successors for the time being, for the purposes of section 10 of the Maori Purposes Act 1936, of the trustees named in Schedule 3 of that Act; and

(b)

the people for the time being recognised by the wananga’s governing body as the Purutanga Mauri Kaumatua Group; and

(c)

the wananga’s governing body, chief executive, teaching staff, general staff, and students; and

(d)

the wananga’s graduates (whether they graduated before or after it was established as a wananga by this order); and

(e)

such other people as the wananga’s governing body for the time being determines.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order, which comes into force on 1 July 1993, establishes Te Wananga o Raukawa as a wananga, and specifies the people who are to constitute it.

1 General

This is a consolidation of the Education (Te Wananga o Raukawa) Order 1993 that incorporates the amendments made to the legislation so that it shows the law as at its stated date.

2 Legal status

A consolidation is taken to correctly state, as at its stated date, the law enacted or made by the legislation consolidated and by the amendments. This presumption applies unless the contrary is shown.
