Pursuant to section 24 of the New Zealand Horticulture Export Authority Act 1987, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.
Order
1 Title and commencement
(1)
This order may be cited as the New Zealand Horticulture Export Authority (Nashi/Asian Pear) Order 1994.
(2)
This order shall come into force on the 28th day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
2 Nashi defined
In this order, nashi means the unprocessed fruit of plants of either of the following kinds:
(a)
plants of the species Pyrus pyrifolia:
(b)
plants that are a hybrid of the species Pyrus pyrifolia and the species Pyrus ussuriensis.
3 Nashi declared a prescribed product
Nashi are hereby declared to be a prescribed product.
4 Nashi to be subject to export licensing
[Revoked]Clause 4: revoked, on 22 April 2010, by clause 4 of the New Zealand Horticulture Export Authority (Nashi/Asian Pear) Amendment Order 2010 (SR 2010/64).
5 Product group recognised for nashi
The body that was known as Nashi New Zealand Incorporated immediately before the commencement of the New Zealand Horticulture Export Authority (Nashi/Asian Pear) Amendment Order 2007 is the product group recognised for nashi.
Clause 5: substituted, on 14 June 2007, by clause 4 of the New Zealand Horticulture Export Authority (Nashi/Asian Pear) Amendment Order 2007 (SR 2007/105).
