Regulations

1 Title and commencement

(1)

These regulations may be cited as the Births, Deaths, Marriages, and Relationships Registration (Fees) Regulations 1995.

(2)

These regulations shall come into force on the day after the date of their notification in the Gazette.

Regulation 1(1): amended, on 24 January 2009, by section 49(2) of the Births, Deaths, Marriages, and Relationships Registration Amendment Act 2008 (2008 No 48).

1A Interpretation

In these regulations, certificate means a birth certificate, death certificate, marriage certificate, civil union certificate, or name change certificate.

Regulation 1A: inserted, on 16 November 2006, by regulation 4 of the Births, Deaths, and Marriages Registration (Fees) Amendment Regulations 2006 (SR 2006/329).

2 Fees

There shall be paid to the Registrar-General or, as the case requires, to a Registrar, for each of the matters specified in the Schedule, the fee specified for it in that schedule.

3 Amount of goods and services tax included

The fees prescribed by these regulations are exclusive of goods and services tax under the Goods and Services Tax Act 1985.

4 Revocation

The Births and Deaths Registration (Fees) Regulations 1989 (SR 1989/319) and Births and Deaths Registration (Fees) Regulations 1989, Amendment No 1 (SR 1993/220) are hereby revoked.

This is a consolidation of the Births, Deaths, Marriages, and Relationships Registration (Fees) Regulations 1995 that incorporates the amendments made to the regulations so that it shows the law as at its stated date.
