PURSUANT to section 1(2) of the Police Amendment Act 1995, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following order.

This order may be cited as the Police Amendment Act Commencement Order 1996.

2 Commencement of Police Amendment Act 1995

The Police Amendment Act 1995 shall come into force on the 1st day of April 1996.

Explanatory note

This order appoints 1 April 1996 as the date on which the Police Amendment Act 1995 is to come into force.
