Explanatory note

This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This order brings into force, on 1 February 1998, sections 2, 3, 4, 7, and 8 of the Airport Authorities Amendment Act 1996.

Sections 2, 3, and 4 of the Act amend the Airport Authorities Act 1966 to provide for the shareholding of the Minister of Civil Aviation and Meteorological Services in airport companies to be transferred to the Minister for State-Owned Enterprises.

Section 7 of the Act changes the existing reference to the Ministry of Transport in section 6(7) of the principal Act to a reference to the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand.

Section 8 makes minor amendments to insert correct references in section 9 of the principal Act.
