Note
These regulations are administered in the Ministry of Transport.
Pursuant to section 394 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title

(1) These regulations are the Marine Protection (Offences) Amendment Regulations 2005.
(2) In these regulations, the Marine Protection (Offences) Regulations 19981 are called
“the principal regulations”
.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on 8 September 2005.
3 Schedule 1 amended
Schedule 1 of the principal regulations is amended by adding the items set out in the Schedule.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on 8 September 2005, amend the Marine Protection (Offences) Regulations 1998.
The amendments prescribe the breaches of the Marine Protection Rules: Part 190 Mandatory Ships Routeing that are summary offences and the breaches that are infringement offences, and prescribe the fines and infringement fees for those offences.
Part 190 of the rules prohibits certain ships from entering the Poor Knights area and the Three Kings area.
