1 Title
This order is the Extradition (Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China) Order Revocation Order 2020.
2 Commencement
This order comes into force on 31 July 2020.
3 Revocation
The Extradition (Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China) Order 1998 (SR 1998/243) is revoked.
4 Revocation of this order
This order is revoked on 31 August 2020.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order, which comes into force on 31 July 2020, revokes the Extradition (Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China) Order 1998 (the extradition order).
The effect of the revocation is that the Extradition Act 1999 (which replaced the Extradition Act 1965, under which the extradition order was made) no longer applies to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China in respect of the agreement set out in the Schedule of that order.
