Fisheries (Central Area Commercial Fishing) Amendment Regulations 2000

Note

These regulations are administered in the Ministry of Fisheries.

Pursuant to section 89 of the Fisheries Act 1983 and section 297 of the Fisheries Act 1996, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.

1 Title
2 Commencement

  • These regulations come into force on 1 September 2000.

3 Closed season for rock lobster

  • (1) Regulation 14J(1) of the principal regulations is amended by revoking paragraph (b), and substituting the following paragraphs:

    • “(b) the period from 1 September in any year (other than the year 2000) to the following 31 January (both dates inclusive); or

    • “(c) the period from 1 October 2000 to 31 January 2001 (both dates inclusive).”

    (2) Regulation 14J of the principal regulations is amended by adding to both subclause (6) and subclause (8) the words “, or during the month of September in the year 2000”.

4 Concession relating to male spiny rock lobster

  • Regulation 14K(1)(a) of the principal regulations is amended by inserting, after the word “year”, the words “, or during the month of September in the year 2000”.

Explanatory note

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

These regulations amend the Fisheries (Central Area Commercial Fishing) Regulations 1986 to allow commercial fishers to take rock lobster in area CRA 3 (Gisborne) during the month of September 2000.

Issued under the authority of the Acts and Regulations Publication Act 1989.
