Note
This order is administered in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
Pursuant to section 31(2) of the New Zealand Horticulture Export Authority Act 1987, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following order.
1 Title
-
(1) This order is the Horticultural Prescribed Products (Avocados) Amendment Order 2000.
(2) In this order, the Horticultural Prescribed Products (Avocados) Order 19891 is called
“the principal order”
.
2 Commencement
This order comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette.
3 Avocados declared to be a prescribed product
Clause 3 of the principal order is amended by omitting the item
“Avocado (Persea americana,)”
, and substituting the item“Avocado, fruit of Persea americana”
.

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the order, but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This order, which comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the Gazette, amends the Horticultural Prescribed Products (Avocados) Order 1989 by changing the item relating to the definition of avocados to reflect the distinction between the plants and the fruits of those plants.
Issued under the authority of the Acts and Regulations Publication Act 1989.
