Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Amendment Regulations (No 2) 2004: revoked, on 1 November 2011, pursuant to regulation 16 of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines (Exemptions and Prohibited Substances) Regulations 2011 (SR 2011/327).

These regulations are administered by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
Pursuant to section 75 of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 2004, Her Excellency the Governor-General, acting on the recommendation of the Minister for Food Safety and on the advice and with the consent of the Executive Council, makes the following regulations.
1 Title
(1)
These regulations are the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Amendment Regulations (No 2) 2004.
(2)
In these regulations, the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Regulations 20011 are called “the principal regulations”
.
2 Commencement
These regulations come into force on the 28th day after the date of their notification in the Gazette.
3 New regulation 10 added
The principal regulations are amended by adding the following regulation:
10 Prohibition on use of certain agricultural compounds
(1)
The substances described in Schedule 8 are prohibited from use as agricultural compounds or as ingredients in agricultural compounds.
(2)
This regulation overrides anything to the contrary in any other regulation.
4 New Schedule 8 added
The principal regulations are amended by adding the Schedule 8 set out in the Schedule.

HCH (also known as hexachlorocyclohexane or benzenehexachloride)
Heptachlor
Lindane
Mirex
Strychnine

Explanatory note
This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.
These regulations, which come into force on the 28th day after their notification in the Gazette, amend the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2001 (“the principal regulations”
).
Issued under the authority of the Acts and Regulations Publication Act 1989.
